Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Dreamtime. By creating an account or using the service you agree to be bound by them.

1. The service

Dreamtime provides personalised bedtime stories for children, delivered daily via our mobile app. Each subscription covers one household and any number of children within it.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any children whose data you add to Dreamtime. By registering you confirm this is the case.

3. Subscription and billing

Free trial

New accounts receive a free trial period. No payment is required to start. The length of the trial is displayed at sign-up and may change from time to time for new customers.

Paid subscription

  • After the trial, Dreamtime costs £10 per month (inclusive of VAT where applicable).
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly on the same date each month.
  • Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We never store your full card details.
  • You will receive an email receipt for each payment.

Price changes

We will give you at least 30 days' notice before any price change takes effect. Continued use of the service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.

4. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from within the app or by emailing hello@trydreamtime.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you will retain access until then. We do not offer partial-month refunds.

5. Refunds

If you experience a technical fault that prevents you from accessing the service for an extended period due to our error, contact us and we will consider a pro-rata refund at our discretion. We are not obligated to provide refunds for change of mind after the free trial has ended.

6. Generated content

  • Stories, illustrations, and audio are generated fresh each day and will vary.
  • We do not guarantee that any particular story will meet a specific standard or be suitable for every child.
  • Content is intended for children aged 2–10 and is moderated to be safe and age-appropriate, but no automated system is perfect. You should read stories with your child and contact us if you encounter anything inappropriate.
  • You may not reproduce, sell, or distribute generated content outside of personal family use.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials with people outside your household.
  • Use the service for any commercial purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from the service.
  • Provide false information when setting up your account.
  • Use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Intellectual property

All software, branding, and infrastructure underlying Dreamtime remains our property. Generated stories and illustrations are provided to you for personal, non-commercial use only.

9. Availability

We aim to deliver a new story to each household every day. However, we cannot guarantee 100% uptime or uninterrupted delivery. We will not be liable for missed stories caused by third-party service outages, maintenance windows, or events outside our control.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dreamtime's liability for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will give you at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
